Having an Unexpected Stay-Cation? Try these Tips…

By Karen Ronney, Editor SanDiegoTennisNews.com

While our clubs, courts and facilities are on possible lock down due to the COVID-19 health situation, perhaps the silver lining is it could be considered an unusual gift of time. I realize it’s not one we asked for, but while we have no other choice, let’s make it useful. Here are some ideas:

  1. Review your 2019 activities: What did you do well? What can you improve?
  2. Reach out to your customers: via email or newsletter and offer greetings, support and updates.
  3. Clean up your facility: Once your doors reopen, consider ways you can make your facility cleaner and safer.
  4. Plan your summer programming: including camps and lessons. What can you offer to drive business to your site?
  5. Organize your office: There is rarely time for this task, so why not now? When we are all back in action, you will appreciate a refreshed and organized office.
  6. Update your tennis contacts: People move and change email addresses.
  7. Clean out and organize your emails: This can be a time consuming task but now we have nothing but time…so why not?
  8. Obtain USPTA/PTR/USTA Continuing Education Credit: Listen to webinars online. Submit for credit.
  9. Play with your kids: try mini tennis in your backyard.
  10. Get Current with USTA Net Generation Curriculum: for Red-Orange-Green tennis.  (You must be NG and Safe Play cleared to access this information.)
